Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Ms. Murashima visits and discusses academic exchange between NTPU and Japan.
The Head of the Cultural Affairs and Public Relations Department from Japan -Taiwan Exchange Association, Murashima Ikuyo, visited NTPU on the 20th of this month with Assistant Director Hakuta Naoko and Ms. Chen Suh Ling. Director of Research Center for Asia and Pan Pacific Region, Yu-An Hsu, gave an enthusiastic welcome and led the way to meet President Chen-Jai Lee with Former Vice President Chun-Sheng Chen, Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Lung-Pao Tsai, Former Dean of College of Law Dr. Chao-Chun Lin, Assistant Professor of College of Law Dr. Kobayashi Takanori and Research Fellow of Center for Haishan Research Pei Hsin Lin. They talked about future cooperation between the two sides. After a wide-ranging conversation, Ms.Murashima stopped by the library for checking Japanese book fair, 共に‧一起‧Always Here --閱讀深度日本. The last stop was Research Center for Asia and Pan Pacific Region. In there, They held an in-depth and practical discussion on Japan Research and academic exchange program.
Since the last time the former Head of the Cultural Affairs and Public Relations Department visited in 2019, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association donates Japanese books yearly to Research Center for Asia and Pan Pacific Region for encouraging Japan research. The research Center has received 306 Japanese books so far. To let more students and professors see these valuable assets, Director Hsu contacted NTPU library and transferred all the books this year. The book fair, 共に‧一起‧Always Here --閱讀深度日本(Together‧Always Here—Read Japan deeply ), is held at the library from 4/19 to 4/30. Seeing the books from the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association exhibit in front of all the students, Ms. Murashima could not hide her excitement and took a picture of the book fair.
After a detailed and heated opinion exchange in Research Center for Asia and Pan Pacific Region, Ms. Murashima promised to convey the opinions on various academic programs from NTPU back to Japan. She showed her willingness to give a speech on Japan-Taiwan issues at NTPU. The speech will be arranged by Research Center for Asia and Pan Pacific Region soon.
