Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei Visiting NTPU
The CEO of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei (SCCT), Mr. Fredrik Boye, and the Broad Director of SCCT, Glenn Lio, visited NTPU on March 22nd to discuss the promotion of student exchange programs and future cooperation. Dr. Wen-I Lin, Dean of the International Affairs Office (OIA), Dr. Nan-Cheng Su, Director of Career Development Center, and Dr. Han-Ming Wu, Director of the International Students Section, jointly participated in the opening ceremony of the Oversea & Cross-Strait Students Activity to enjoy the foreign cultural performance and taste exotic cuisine. Besides, they also visited President Chen-Jai Lee to express their gratitude to National Taipei University.
Mr. Fredrik visits NTPU for the first time after his inauguration in Taiwan last July. During the lunch, he showed how he loves Taiwan by sharing the nice experiences here, and he also looks forward to having more interaction with NTPU. Dean Lin introduced the interaction between NTPU and Sweden, and discussed how to initiate the Mentorship Program and the Young Professional Programme in NTPU. Meanwhile, Dean Lin indicated that the number of our exchange/visiting students increased significantly in recent years, it’s higher than the 300 average value of the top 300 schools in Asia (Before COVID-19). Therefore, Mr. Fredrik said, to expand the communication and collaboration between Taiwan and Sweden, Taiwanese and Swedish students could have more interaction by establishing relationships between NTPU and Swedish universities. In addition, NTPU would like to provide internship chances for students from Sweden by being a member of SCCT.
The luncheon meeting of OIA and SCCT ran smoothly. We look forward to having more opportunities to cooperate with SCCT in the near future and work together to build stronger friendships for Swedish and Taiwanese young generation.
