National Taipei University’s (NTPU) College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science introduced a new system to help the Taoyuan Metro keep good time on its trains on Aug. 5.
Based on the statistics by the Taoyuan Metro, the system was designed for helping Taoyuan Metro’s technicians and engineers make sure all their trains are running on time, while passengers are able to fix their schedules by following the latest train schedule through the APP on their smartphones.
Taoyuan Metro President Liu Kun-i (劉坤億), who is also a professor of the Department of Public Administration and Policy, said that the company has been trying hard to make it a reliable system by working with different academic organizations and schools. He is also hoping that the cooperation relationship with different schools would offer practical chances for students before they graduate.
Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsang (鄭文燦) said that he was hoping for safer, faster and easier metro system through these kinds of cooperation relationship between companies and schools.
