In July 2023, Dean Yueh-Hung Hou embarked on a visit to the Law School of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States. He met with Dean Daniel Tokaji of the Law School on July 3, US time. The two sides engaged in a constructive discussion regarding various aspects of the ongoing exchange program between the two institutions.
Dean Daniel Tokaji had led his team to visit our law school on May 18, 2023, including Professor John Ohnesorge, Director of the East Asian Legal Studies Center, Rebecca Scheller, Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid, and Jason Smith, Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs,. The University of Wisconsin-Madison, founded in 1848, is a prestigious university with approximately 43,000 students, 6,000 international students, and has produced 20 Nobel Prize winners, 41 Pulitzer Prize winners to date. It is a top-tier research university with a high academic reputation. The University of Wisconsin Law School has attached great importance to exchanges with Asian countries since the establishment of the “East Asian Legal Studies Center” in 1990. Associate Professor Shen-Ting Tsai, Associate Professor Ming-Hui Huang and Assistant Professor Bo-Shone Fu of our school are also alumni of the University of Wisconsin Law School. In 2007, our law school and the University of Wisconsin Law School signed an academic exchange agreement and a dual degree cooperation agreement. Numerous outstanding students have taken advantage of these agreement to pursue degrees.
Dean Yueh-Hung Hou’s recent visit not only strengthened the friendship between the two schools, but is also expected to foster deeper research cooperation in the future.
